X Dance is operated by Anthony Lewis, doing business as X Dance ("X Dance," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit our websites, buy our products, use our online services, attend our classes or events, or otherwise interact with us.
We want you to understand what information we have, why we use it, and how you can contact us about it. If you have any questions, email dance@xdance.com.
This Policy covers X Dance and the websites and online services we operate, including X Dance TV and the X Dance Marketplace on xdance.tv:
This Policy also covers our offline activities, including dance classes, private lessons, workshops, cruises, and other X Dance events, where we collect or use personal information. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of a cruise line, travel agent, social media platform, or other third party.
If we change the legal structure of our business, including transferring its operations to a company formed to operate X Dance, personal information may be transferred as part of that business transition, subject to applicable law and the protections described in this Policy.
The information we collect depends on how you interact with X Dance. It may include:
We do not directly collect or store full payment card numbers or card security codes. Payment details are handled by our payment providers. We may receive transaction confirmations and related payment or order records from those providers.
We do not ordinarily request sensitive personal information, such as passport details or medical information, as part of our standard online accounts. If you voluntarily send us additional information, or information reaches us in connection with an event or cruise booking, we may process what is reasonably needed to respond or coordinate the service.
We receive information directly from you when you register, purchase, contact us, attend an event, complete a form, or create an account. Some information is generated automatically by our websites, hosting systems, and tracking technologies.
We may also receive relevant information from payment providers, service providers, our travel agent, and other parties involved in providing or supporting your purchase or participation. For example, our travel agent may include booking information in communications with us while coordinating an X Dance Cruise.
We use information for the following purposes:
Where applicable law requires a particular legal basis for processing, we rely on an appropriate basis for the activity, such as fulfilling a contract, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate business interests where permitted, or your consent when required. If we rely on consent, you may withdraw it as provided by applicable law, although withdrawal will not necessarily affect earlier lawful processing.
We may email you receipts, account details, class reminders, registration information, service updates, and other messages necessary to provide a product or service. These messages may continue even if you unsubscribe from promotional emails.
If you receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of the email or by contacting dance@xdance.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not automatically cancel a membership, remove a course purchase, or delete an account.
We do not currently use automated promotional text-message campaigns. We may personally send an individual text message to follow up about an inquiry, registration, or customer relationship, or communicate by telephone. You can ask us not to contact you through a particular channel.
Our email communications currently use ClickFunnels and SendGrid, and we may continue to maintain historical customer and email records in FluentCRM and Amazon SES during our system transition.
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies for features such as sign-in, checkout, website operation, security, and marketing. Some technologies are placed or operated by third-party services we use. You can manage or block many cookies through your browser, although blocking certain cookies may affect site functionality.
We use the Meta Pixel to understand website activity, measure advertising performance, and support advertising on Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram. Information associated with this technology may include device or browser identifiers and interactions with our websites. Meta may process information it receives in accordance with its own policies.
We also sometimes provide customer email lists to Meta to build custom audiences or lookalike audiences for our advertising. We do not sell customer email lists to third parties in exchange for money. However, disclosures connected to targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain privacy laws even if no money changes hands.
To request that we stop using your contact information in our customer-list advertising audiences, email dance@xdance.com. We will evaluate and act on applicable privacy opt-out requests as required by law. This request is separate from controlling tracking technologies on your browser or device. You may also be able to adjust advertising preferences directly through Meta and your browser settings.
We do not currently offer an on-site cookie preference center. This Policy explains our current practices; additional consent or opt-out controls may be required for certain visitors under applicable law. We will update our practices and disclosures as needed when implementing such controls or adding new analytics or advertising technologies.
We may disclose information to providers and partners who help us operate X Dance, including:
We may also share information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect people's safety and our rights, investigate fraud, or complete a merger, restructuring, financing, or sale of X Dance or its assets.
We do not give Marketplace instructors access to customers' email addresses, telephone numbers, or other contact details through the instructor sales dashboard. See Section 11 for the limited purchaser information they can view.
When you purchase something from X Dance, payment is processed using Stripe, PayPal, or, for certain transactions, Square. Payment providers collect and handle payment details under their own terms and privacy notices. X Dance receives information needed to confirm orders, provide access, administer subscriptions, handle refunds or disputes, and maintain our financial records.
X Dance does not directly collect or store full credit card numbers or card security codes. If you make a payment using a third-party checkout, that provider's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy practices.
We may photograph or record classes, workshops, cruises, private lessons, online sessions, and other X Dance activities. This may include photographs, video recordings, audio, and recordings of certain Zoom lessons or classes. We may use appropriate recordings for education, course content, event coverage, promotion, marketing, or sharing on our websites and social media channels.
Participation in X Dance events and classes is subject to our applicable Terms and Conditions, including the Photography and Media Release. Under those terms, participants consent to the use of their likeness, voice, and image without compensation unless they notify X Dance in writing before the event that they do not consent.
If you give that advance written notice, we will make reasonable efforts not to feature you individually in promotional photographs or recordings. We cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in group images, background footage, or recordings made in public settings. For questions or to submit a written notice, contact dance@xdance.com before the event.
Photographs or recordings that have already been published or shared through third-party platforms may be difficult to remove completely, although we will consider applicable legal rights and requests.
When you register your interest in or sign up for an X Dance Cruise, we generally collect your name, email address, and phone number to communicate with you and manage your X Dance registration.
Cruise cabin reservations and the personal information needed for them, such as date of birth or mailing address, are collected by our independent travel agent and/or the cruise line, rather than through X Dance's standard cruise registration. We may receive or see some of that information in emails or other communications from the travel agent when coordinating a booking. If that happens, we use it for the related coordination and business purposes.
The travel agent and cruise line each have separate privacy policies. Please review their notices for details about information they collect and use to arrange travel.
The X Dance Marketplace on xdance.tv allows independent dance instructors to create and offer their own video courses through X Dance. Participating instructors are our clients, not our employees. Marketplace courses are individual purchases, separate from an X Dance TV membership, and we maintain the account and purchase information needed to provide ongoing access to courses.
Instructor profiles and course content. Instructors may provide names, photographs, biographies, teaching partners, lesson videos, video transcripts, descriptions, images, course pricing, and other details needed to create, review, host, display, and sell their courses. Information shown on a public instructor profile or course page can be viewed by visitors. We use the information instructors submit to administer their accounts and courses, review submissions, provide technical support, and operate the Marketplace.
X Dancer purchases and instructor reporting. We maintain records of courses purchased, gifted, or received, course access, sales, refunds, and related customer support. We also record referral links and coupon activity to attribute purchases and calculate instructor earnings. Instructors can see sales information in their dashboards, including a purchaser's first name and last initial. We do not make purchasers' email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, or other contact details available to instructors through the dashboard. Instructors may see sales and referral performance without receiving that contact information.
Instructor earnings, payouts, and tax information. We use transaction, fee, adjustment, and payout information to calculate instructors' shares of eligible course sales and administer their earnings. Instructors may select PayPal or Venmo to receive payouts. For payment administration and compliance with applicable tax laws, we or a service provider may request or process additional contact, payment, identification, and tax-reporting information, including applicable tax forms. We may use a third-party provider to handle tax documentation or reporting. Payment and tax-service providers may have separate privacy notices governing information they collect directly.
Course-description assistance. The Marketplace includes a feature that can create a short suggested course description from the transcript of a lesson video uploaded to our Vimeo account. This feature is used to help instructors describe their courses; it does not use purchasers' contact information.
We may retain Marketplace purchase, course-access, earnings, payout, and tax-related records as explained in Section 12, including where needed for ongoing course access, support, accounting, refunds, disputes, or legal obligations.
We generally retain customer contact information, account information, and purchase or participation records without a fixed expiration date. This allows us to maintain purchase histories, provide continued access to purchased content, support customers, resolve disputes, and keep historical business records. We also retain records needed for accounting, legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and compliance purposes.
If you request deletion, we will review and respond to your request under applicable law. We may delete or de-identify information where appropriate, but we may need to retain some records for permitted or legally required reasons, including documenting transactions, honoring ongoing purchases, resolving disputes, or maintaining an unsubscribe record so we do not contact you again for marketing.
Our third-party providers may retain information according to their own retention rules. Removing an account or personal information may affect access to purchases, memberships, or other services. We will explain any material effects when handling a request where appropriate.
We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including relying on service providers that support secure account access, payments, and website operation. No website, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Please protect your account credentials and contact us if you believe your X Dance account or personal information has been compromised.
You may contact us at dance@xdance.com to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion, or raise a question about how we use it. You can also ask to stop promotional emails or request exclusion of your contact information from our customer-list advertising audiences.
Depending on your location and which laws apply to X Dance, you may have additional rights, such as the right to receive a copy of certain information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, opt out of targeted advertising or certain sales or sharing, or appeal a decision about a privacy request. We will handle legally valid requests in accordance with applicable law, including any required identity verification, deadlines, and exceptions. Where required, we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To help protect your information, we may need to verify that the requester is the person concerned or is authorized to act for that person. Requests may be limited where we must retain records or where another lawful exception applies. You may also contact the privacy authority responsible for your jurisdiction if applicable law provides that option.
Email preferences: Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or write to us. We may still send essential account or transaction messages.
Account and data deletion: Contact us directly. Canceling a subscription, unsubscribing from emails, and requesting deletion of personal information are different actions.
Targeted advertising: Write to us to request exclusion of your contact information from our customer-list advertising audiences or to exercise any other advertising-related right that applies to you. Browser and platform settings may also let you limit certain tracking or personalized ads.
X Dance is based in the United States, but our websites may be accessed and our digital services purchased from other countries. Personal information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.
Where the privacy laws of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Canada, or another jurisdiction apply to our activities, we will handle applicable rights and international transfers as required by those laws. The fact that a website is accessible from another country does not necessarily mean every law of that country applies to X Dance.
We do not allow people under 18 to participate in X Dance classes or lessons. Our online services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact dance@xdance.com so we can review it and take appropriate steps.
Our websites may link to or embed content from outside services, including social media, video platforms, payment processors, and cruise or travel providers. Those third parties may collect information independently when you use their services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technologies, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will display a new "Last updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
